What is a chiropractor? What do they do and do I need a chiropractor?
What is a chiropractor?
Chiropractors are neuromuscloskeletal doctors that focus on improving the bodies ability to function and heal. Chiropractors focus on the muscles, bones, and nerves of the body to aid the patient in obtaining or maintaining a pain free and healthy lifestyle.
What do they do?
We use spinal adjustments or manipulations, soft tissue techniques, and therapeutic stretches and exercises to correct misalignments also called subluxations. This helps to aid the body’s ability to heal itself and function properly. We educate patients on how to take care of their spine through exercise, proper ergonomics, and many other therapies.
Why do I need a chiropractor?
Our brains send impulses to each nerve in the nervous system to control the muscles, bones, and organs of our body. Misalignments in the body can limit the nervous system from communicating correctly with the brain. Due to this disconnect and interference, the body cannot perform at optimal function and will break down. This dysfunction can manifest itself through pain, discomfort, and inflammation. Getting regular treatments by a chiropractor can prevent the body from becoming misaligned and maximize your everyday performance!
